Trying to get minerals from water is a losing battle. You should be getting your minerals from the food you eat and unless you are receiving intravenous minerals it is going to be very difficult to get anywhere close to what you need from water. A little bit on minerals in you water is a good thing – this helps the absorption your of water in your intestines. Too much minerals in your water may have the reverse effect causing you dehydration.
Stress can cause an increase in blood sugar which can have a diuretic affect on the body. Prolonged stress can reduce the building blocks we need to maintain our fluid levels and lead to further dehydration. A simple adrenal stress index test using saliva may be helpful Ask your M.D. or naturopath.
Adding electrons and oxygen to your water doesn’t make any sense so I will not go in depth on this topic. I am open to ideas about why this may be beneficial and welcome your comments but I think in the long-term these unnatural waters will lead to disharmony in your body.
Ionizing water has received a lot of attention lately due to its well organized network marketing structure and straight forward marketing approach. You may have even been to a water party and seen the demo for yourself – I have. You might consider where having acidic or alkaline water may have its uses in terms of external skin care and vegetable washing.
The price for a water ionization machine is quite high and if you were to drink alkaline water with a meal it would impair your digestion and potentially cause you indigestion and intestinal dysbiosis or yeast overgrowth from putrefying undigested food.
Trying to transform your water with mechanical means at home is unlikely to succeed. Buying expensive machines to make structured water may be just wasting your money and time – scams. You will find that there is little evidence to show that the effects of mechanically induced changes on water are anything more than transient with questionable benefits.
Drinking too much water or too little water can put a strain on the kidneys. There are times you may want to drink more water and there are times you may want to drink less water. If you have heart disease, heart failure, or kidney disease you must be very careful not to drink too much water.
If you have a urinary tract infection you may want to drink more water to flush out your urethra and remove the bacteria. Some experts say a good rule of thumb for you is to drink half your weight in ounces, ie if you weight 100 lbs. you should drink 50 ounces of water a day. Again, you need to check with your health care provider before increasing your water intake. Others say 2-3 liters per day, whatever feels best to you, is the best for you.
Our bodies have amazing adapting abilities and when you increase of decrease your fluid intake you may notice it more the first few days but then once calibrated you should expect not to be peeing every 10 minutes.
When you feel thirst often it is because you are already dehydrated. Your body does not make it super obvious when you need to drink water unless you are very attuned to its needs. This is important because dehydration can cause many problems within our bodies and I suggest you read “Your Body’s Many Cries for Water,” by Dr. F. Batmanghelidj.
Most foods only serve to dehydrate us more, especially carbohydrates and proteins. When you eat foods like these water used to cap the ends of the broken down pieces causing a reduction of water in your body. Soups that contain gelatin may be the optimal food because gelatin helps breakdown the food while the water in the soup is hydrating.
Juice contains carbohydrates and also wreaks havoc on your blood sugar. A good idea is to dilute your juice with half water or more and sip it slowly so you avoid sudden bursts of sugar into your body.
Most “sports” drinks are no more than sugar, chemicals, artificial flavorings, and food colorings. Some of these drinks you have tried in the past thinking that they are sports drinks are not even allowed by law any more to be called sports drinks. Adding a pinch of salt to your water after exercise if you experienced heavy sweating may do more than a colored mix of sugar and salt. Adding salt to you diet if you have hypertension, edema, kidney disease, or heart disease should be done under supervision of your health care provider.
When is a water pure? How many times do we need to purify it before we can call it pure? From a chemistry perspective, if you ingested 100% pure H2O on a regular basis you would undoubtedly cause yourself health problems. Purity can be considered in other ways, however. There are many levels of purity, including energetic, emotional, and physical.
A decent home water purifier such as a carbon filter may be sufficient for you. I will talk more about different purification and filtering methods in future E-letters. However, you will never be able to purify water on the emotional and energetic levels with any number of carbon filters.
